Welcome to Akron Elementary School

Chrissy Mills, Principal

Welcome to Akron Elementary School, home of the Flyers!

Akron Elementary is very proud of our students, staff and parents.  We work together, on a daily basis, to meet the needs of our students.  When you first enter the door, you will be greeted with a smiling face.  From a buzz in the hallways to instruction and learning taking place in the classrooms, we are constantly working to provide a fun and safe environment for our students.  We work hard to meet the needs of our students, not only academically but mentally and emotionally too.

We offer extracurricular activities that include student council, 5th grade girls’ volleyball and basketball, 5th grade boys’ basketball, Kangaroo Jump Rope Club, kickball club, robotics team, spell bowl team, math team and much more.  Throughout the school year, we have fun school activities that get everyone involved such as school wide convocations and Riley Children’s Hospital fundraisers.

Our teachers are dedicated to meeting the needs of all students. They use “Best Practice” instruction while teaching the Indiana State Standards. Our teachers recognize that each child is an individual and they strive to give each child the best elementary experience.

Chrissy Mills,
Akron Elementary Principal
